Emergency Tree Works - Southampton, Hampshire
by Daniel Green

CHTS were contacted by a very distressed homeowner that had a tree fall and rest on their property following some very strong winds and storms.
We arranged for a domestic surveyor to attend the site that day and record their findings and note any works required to these trees, including any specialist equipment that would be needed to complete this job safely. With this information, they were able to create an appropriate work method statement and risk assessment. It was agreed that the works needed attention.
Later that day a domestic work crew attended site and slowly built a plan on how to remove the tree without causing any further damage to the property. Team Leader Sam used a pole saw to remove as much of the weight from the tree as possible before performing an undercut on the remaining crown that rested on the property. Thanks to taking the weight off of the tree, the main stem didn't move and the small section of crown fell to the floor. The team continued to remove the main stem in small section until the entire tree was down.
All of the timber that was created was removed from site and brought back to our waste management facility.
