Deadwooding - Lepe, Hampshire
by Daniel Green

CHTS were instructed by a Commercial client to remove major deadwood from a set of Pine trees at Lepe Country Park, behind the main visitors centre.
We firstly arranged for a Surveyor to visit site and determine any specialist equipment or planning that may be required for the completion of the works. With this information the Surveyor was able to create an appropriate work method statement and risk assessment.
The paths and roads around the work site were taped off and signed appropriately to warn all members of the public of the works and Arborist Brad Delacour remained in clear view to warn any pedestrians of impending dangers.
Team Leader Henry Rule climbed the trees to proceed with the Deadwooding utilising his SRT climbing system. Henry had to remain mindful of the power line that ran adjacent to the trees so all cuts were hand held sections and dropped into a designated area away from the power line.
All arisings were chipped and removed from site and processed at our Waste Management Site whilst the timber was processed at our Log store to become seasoned firewood.
